About Us

Formed in 1994, the Australian Asian Association of Dentists (AAAD) is a non-profitable professional dental society. This society endeavours to fulfill the needs of dentists from all Asian backgrounds or any dentist who has an interest in Asian culture. Our membership consists of dentists from all ethnic backgrounds, and you do not have to be of Asian descent to join our society. Our association’s heart is the “three C’s” of Culture, Culinary, and Camaraderie.

Meetings

To keep our members abreast of the latest in dentistry, AAAD holds four meetings per year. Three of the meetings are academic in nature where 1-1.5 hours of continuing professional development points could be earned per meeting.
In most cases, our speakers are high-calibre dental specialists presenting on an engaging topic of current interest. The meetings are generally served with a 10-course Chinese banquet dinner. The fourth meeting of the year is social in nature and much anticipated by our members; it’s our Christmas celebration, which is a terrific opportunity for networking or simply celebrating the holiday season with your friends and colleagues.

Our Logo

Dr Anthony Au, the first president of the AAAD, designed our logo, incorporating the abbreviation of the Association into the Chinese character for “tooth.” Our committee adopted the logo, and we feel it effectively symbolises our name.
